Bartlesville, Oklahoma, the City of Legends, is located in Washington County in the northeast corner of the state. Bartlesville is a unique blend of Native American and Western heritage, skyscrapers, technology and international influence. Phillips Petroleum Company was founded in Bartlesville by Frank Phillips. The company merged with Conoco in 2001. The combined company, employing 2,400, is the third largest oil company in the U. S.
