Weatherford, Oklahoma is located in Custer County in the west-central part of the state on I-40. Weatherford is home to Southwestern Oklahoma State University which offers four-year degrees. The Western Technology Center provides in-depth job training. The Industrial Development Trust Authority has one full industrial park and is developing buildings within its second industrial park. Weatherford is one of the few communities of any size to possess a Business Incubator Program for new businesses.

The Weatherford Arts Council promotes the arts through locally produced and imported theatrical troupes and other programs. Weatherford is the home of decorated Astronaut Gen. Thomas P. Stafford Museum.
