Newcastle, Oklahoma is located in the northernmost corner of McClain County, covering 54.9 square miles and is situated directly adjacent to Oklahoma City, in Central Oklahoma. The population in 2006 was estimated at 6,600.
The City of Newcastle, in partnership with the Newcastle Chamber of Commerce, is committed to the growth and success of the city's economy, while maintaining its friendly small town atmosphere.
Newcastle promotes continuous development in order to pursue a high quality of life for its citizens. The rapid growth rate makes Newcastle one of the fastest growing communities in the area. In order to continue expansion and successfully serve our citizens, the city and the chamber are actively pursuing numerous grants to improve and expand the economy, roadways, parks, water and sewer systems, and educational facilities, to meet the demands of a thriving community. Our goal is to maintain existing industry, while creating new enterprises.
Newcastle has received a Community Development Block Grant to inventory infrastructure features for Capital Improvement Planning (CIP).
