Muskogee, Oklahoma is located in Muskogee County in the eastern part of the state. Muskogee is within 20 minutes of I-40 on the Muskogee Turnpike and within 30 minutes of Tulsa. The Port of Muskogee on McClelland-Kerr Navigational system provides water transport around the world through the Gulf Coast and the North American Great Lakes via the Arkansas and Mississippi Rivers.

Northeastern State University has a campus in Muskogee. Muskogee is the center of a rich Native American Indian heritage. Fort Gibson Lake is the nearest of six beautiful lakes which provide year-round water recreation.

Muskogee is a Certified City.
